Experimental studies for proving the psychophysical influence on the whole organism in the course of autogenous training are discussed. As compared to other procedures, ultrasonic Doppler sonography permits to demonstrate changes in the blood flow directly on the vessels. Test persons who have a command of the basic autogenous exercises showed significant differences in the course of the exercises and also in comparison with persons having no experience in autogenous training. It was, for example, possible to show that changes in the blood flow can also be recorded outside the scope of the exercises.
