The postoperative thrombo-embolism belongs to the most dangerous complications in the postoperative phase. The frequency of the postoperative phlebothrombosis increased in the last years because more risk patients were operated. External pneumatic massage of the extremity produces acceleration of the blood flow in the veins and a increase of the fibrinolytic activity of the venous vascular wall. A significant retrogression of the thrombus size was proved in animal experiments in dogs by application of external pneumatic massage after artefactitiously induced thrombosis in the femoral vein.
术后血栓栓塞属于术后阶段最危险的并发症。近年来，由于接受手术的高危患者增多，术后静脉血栓形成的发生率有所上升。肢体外部气动按摩可加快静脉内的血流速度，并提高静脉血管壁的纤溶活性。在犬类动物实验中，通过对人工诱导股静脉血栓形成的犬应用外部气动按摩，证实血栓大小有显著缩小。
