Treatment of the diffuse purulent peritonitis requires a collaboration of specialists in different fields. Among numerous components of the complex treatment of peritonitis the elimination of the source of infection of the abdominal cavity during operation and careful sanitation of the abdominal cavity during operation still remain leading and decisive. The article analyzes the typical errors found in the treatment of peritonitis and its complications.
