[The latissimus dorsi flap and its possibilities in the reconstruction of thoracic wall defects].

The use of the latissimus dorsi consisting of muscle, muscle-skin and a muscle-skin-island flap is described, with special reference to vascular anatomy and the resultant potentialities for reconstruction.
