The authors report a very unusual case of cancer of the kidney with contralateral ureteral metastases. The patient was treated by a right iliopelvic ureterectomy, enlarged left nephrectomy, and reestablishment of continuity by crossed anastomosis between the right lumbar ureter and the residual left ureter distal to the nephrectomy. An excellent functional result was obtained for 9 months after operation but death occurred from metastases.
