"Otometry" (Victoreen 1973) was originally developed as an equal-loudness measurement with damped wave signals. With respect to these investigations different applications in audiology are introduced and discussed. Besides investigations concerning the level of "comfortable" loudness we tested the possible use of this method in hearing aid fitting and the frequency specifity of brainstem potentials evoked with these impulses.
