Cathinone is a new compound extracted from the leaves of Catha Edulis, from the family of Celesteracea. The chemical configuration of the asymmetric carbon atom of Cathinone is similar to that of amphetamine and norpseudoephedrine. The effects of Cathinone by intraventricular administration in CNS of rats were studied.
