Abstract
Seventeen cases of acute volvulus of the sigmoid colon are presented. Comparison with other series showed that the mortality rate for fixation with or without a shunt are more or less the same. Excellent results were obtained with the Paul Mikulicz method. An intention to use this method in all cases in the future, irrespective of the patient's local and general condition, is expressed.

本文报告了17例乙状结肠急性扭转病例。与其他系列研究相比表明，无论是否进行分流，固定术的死亡率大致相同。采用保罗·米库利奇方法取得了良好效果。文中表示今后打算在所有病例中使用该方法，而不考虑患者的局部和全身状况。
