Forty-one newborns with a high ratio between head/abdomen were studied by dynamic ultrasound scanning before delivery. For those with the highest ratios, increased mortality and low Apgar scores at one minute, were observed. It was suggested that the ratio is an indicator of the nutritional supply in relation to the need of the foetus.
