Abstract
Over a 1-year period, 24 patients have been admitted to one intensive therapy unit (ITU) with fulminant hepatic failure secondary to paracetamol poisoning. This article reviews one such case and the subsequent management which led to successful transplantation, concentrating on the clinical and nursing implications of the patient's care.
