Abstract
Panic disorder can be a chronic and disabling problem, with sufferers frequently using of medical and psychiatric services. In this paper, the nature of panic attacks and panic disorder is outlined, and a cognitive model of panic disorder described. Treatment is outlined, and a case example given.
