Passing a guide pin through a displaced tibial nonunion.

A method is presented for aligning apposing medullary canals in preparation for closed nailing in cases of displaced tibial nonunions. This method involves manipulating an intramedullary guide pin through the nonunion via a bone hook inserted through a small incision at the fracture site. The minimal disruption to the fracture site may reduce the risk of infection and speed healing.
