Abstract

We report two patients in whom the primary presentation of an appendix abscess was atypical, and who later developed obstructive symptoms due to extrinsic intestinal stricturing from chronic inflammation. In one case a short ileal stricture was revealed on enteroclysis, in the other double contrast barium enema showed sigmoid stricturing.
