The case of a 48 year old woman with a synovial cyst of the hip joint and arthrosis secondary to dysplasia is presented Rheumatic disease could be excluded. During an arthrography, which showed the communication of the cyst with the hip joint, the formerly existing pain could be elicited. In this case the pain in beginning hip dysplasia is not directly related to arthrosis.
