Hospitals' future depends upon long-range planning.

In order for hospitals to shape their own future, it is necessary for them to take the initiative in establishing a solid and continual planning process. Strategic planning should take into consideration the external environment and the internal responses to that environment. The New Jersey Hospital Association, which has developed such a plan, offers information to other associations and their members who are considering a similar undertaking.
