Information technology in clinical wards.

The use of information technology within the wards requires a dynamic patient record as the centrepiece of an integrated HIS. Patient care within the wards also needs facilities to be useful for electronic communication (a) with other wards/departments and services within the hospital and (b) outside the institution in healthcare (HC) at large. Therefore these requirements will cover the need for electronic communication regarding patient care that surpasses the boundaries of both clinical wards and institutions. It is observed that simplification of the subject can lead to disappointment and disapproval of system results.
