Pathomorphological investigation of suboperative material in 56 patients with purulent cholangitis was conducted to determine the character and peculiarities of the wall structure changes of common biliary duct. In 20 (36%) observations the histological changes were like in acute, and in 36 (64%)--like in chronic inflammation. Comparing the character of changes of the duct wall and the excised gallbladder it was determined that they are unique and presents the morphological substrate of disease. Since histological changes mainly correlate with the malady clinical course it must be taken into account while choosing operative procedure.
对56例化脓性胆管炎患者的手术切除材料进行了病理形态学研究，以确定胆总管壁结构变化的特征和特点。在20例（36%）观察中，组织学变化类似于急性炎症，在36例（64%）中类似于慢性炎症。比较胆管壁和切除胆囊的变化特征，确定它们是独特的，是疾病的形态学基础。由于组织学变化主要与疾病的临床病程相关，因此在选择手术方法时必须予以考虑。
