The authors describe a syndrome diagnosed in workers who perform tasks requiring visual strain. The syndrome comprises worse visual control, discomfort in orbital area and characteristic changes of refraction and accommodation. The young people having emmetropia and myopia demonstrate temporary and later consistent increase of refraction, and the elderly ones--decreased refraction and early development of presbyopia. In both cases marked fall of accommodation was shown. The article suggests also a possible scheme describing pathogenesis of the syndrome.
作者描述了一种在从事需要视觉疲劳工作的工人中诊断出的综合征。该综合征包括视觉控制变差、眼眶区域不适以及屈光和调节的特征性变化。患有正视和近视的年轻人表现出屈光暂时增加，随后持续增加，而老年人则表现为屈光下降和老花眼早期发展。在这两种情况下，均显示出调节力明显下降。文章还提出了一种描述该综合征发病机制的可能方案。
