Abstract

On the basis of contemporary data about neurohormonal control of gonadal function in fishes, the hormonal control of reproduction during the normal sexual cycle in sturgeons is considered. The data are given on the state of hypophysis in sturgeons in cases of gonadal function disturbances and the problem is discussed of functional interaction between different components of the system of interrelated organs which takes part in the control of reproduction. Methods of hormonal stimulation for obtaining mature eggs and sperm in sturgeons are considered and a new variant of hormonal influence is suggested.
