Infusion therapy lawsuits: an occupational hazard.

In recent years, the number of infusion nursing lawsuits has increased dramatically. Realizing that the care and maintenance of most venous access devices is the responsibility of nurses, the courts are now demanding more accountability. A review of the most common areas of litigation and how nurses can protect themselves is presented.
