Two patients suffering from a panic disorder (agoraphobia) as well as a depressive disorder and alcohol abuse showed marked improvement when given a combination of pharmacotherapy and behavior therapy. The feasibility of this combination treatment in the context of understanding both the theory and therapy of panic disturbances is discussed in these two case histories.
