Abstract

Urinary incontinence. It is an embarrassing, expensive, isolating and disabling condition that millions of Canadians endure daily, often in silence and alone. Despite such numbers, most health care professionals are profoundly ignorant of the causes and management of this condition, disdainfully accepting incontinence as an inevitable and untreatable consequence of aging, childbirth, surgery or trauma.
