Selection of regional anesthesia for trauma.

The type of trauma, the desires of the patient, and the skills of the practitioner dictate the type of anesthesia for any surgical procedure. This article briefly reviews physiological and contiguous considerations of choosing and administering regional anesthesia technique for the trauma patient. Selected potential complicating factors present in the emergency trauma patient are also briefly discussed.
