This study deals with the laboratory testing of the antigenicity of inactivated oral enteric bacterial vaccines for human use, viz. typhoid, dysentery, Escherichia coli and cholera vaccines. For the assays the following methods are applied : 1) various types of active mouse protection tests 2) serum and coproantibody determinations in immunized persons and experimental animals, 3) protective ability of the immune sera in mice and embryonated eggs, 4) hemolytic and bacteriolytic plaque assays. It is pointed out that the most important question: how far the results of these tests are in agreement with the degree of efficacy of vaccines in man, requires to be clarified.
本研究涉及供人类使用的灭活口服肠道细菌疫苗,即伤寒、痢疾、大肠杆菌和霍乱疫苗的抗原性实验室检测。对于这些检测,采用了以下方法:1)各种类型的活性小鼠保护试验;2)对免疫人群和实验动物进行血清和粪便抗体测定;3)检测免疫血清在小鼠和鸡胚中的保护能力;4)溶血和溶菌菌斑试验。需要指出的是,最重要的问题是:这些检测结果与疫苗在人体中的效力程度相符到什么程度,这一点有待阐明。
