Abstract

The nucleotide sequence of the recA gene from Corynebacterium glutamicum AS019 was determined by sequencing a number of overlapping clones containing genomic DNA. Comparison of the C. glutamicum recA gene sequence to the sequences of other procaryotic recA genes reveals a high degree of identity of both the DNA and inferred amino acid sequences.
