We describe a case of Horner syndrome following insertion of a chest tube in a 27 year old male. The syndrome was discovered the day after insertion of the tube and persisted for at least three months. By the time of a control examination six months after insertion the symptoms had disappeared. Caution must be taken when inserting a chest tube. Pressure of the tip of the tube against the thoracic aperture should be avoided.
