This publication presents some selected genetically determined illnesses and points out to the significance of monogene disorders with recessive genetic pathway particularly. By using genetic engineering, e.g. PCR, significant progress can be made in the diagnosis of genetic defects. But it is necessary to find ways of dealing with them.
