The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced a pilot study to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the existing STD Surveillance System. The study will be conducted in 1995 and will involve medical practitioners in the states of Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Oklahoma. The study will be conducted by Abt Associates Inc of Cambridge, Massachusetts in conjunction with the Massachusetts General Hospital. Information from this study will be used to identify corrective strategies that facilitate the reporting process. Providers are strongly urged to participate in this study.
