OBJECTIVES
The study of 15 cases of colonic reconstruction for absent vagina. The outcome in cases of reconstruction of an artificial vagina using the colon is evaluated.
METHODS
Fifteen female patients with congenital absence of vagina who were evaluated and treated with sigmoid colonic reconstruction at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana were studied.
RESULTS
This reconstructive method is successful in patients having a functioning vagina without progressive shrinkage or other symptoms. Disfigurement of the thighs and labia are avoided as is the need for active manipulation.
CONCLUSION
Sigmoid colonic reconstruction for vaginal agenesis is an acceptable method especially in the developing world.
目的
对15例先天性无阴道患者行结肠阴道再造术的研究。评估采用结肠进行人工阴道再造术的效果。
方法
对在加纳阿克拉的科勒布教学医院接受乙状结肠再造术评估和治疗的15例先天性无阴道女性患者进行研究。
结果
这种重建方法对于拥有功能良好的阴道、无渐进性萎缩或其他症状的患者是成功的。避免了大腿和阴唇的畸形，也无需进行主动操作。
结论
对于阴道发育不全，乙状结肠再造术是一种可接受的方法，尤其在发展中国家。
