A synthesis of the historical background of the councils for specialty certification in Mexico is presented. A comment is made on the role of the National Academy of Medicine and on its relation to the councils. Some statistical data are given on the councils endorsed by the Academy, which up to April 1992 grouped 29,093 physicians throughout the country. Finally, a brief comment is made on the future of these organization in Mexico and the increasing influence they will exert on the regulation of specialized medical practice.
本文介绍了墨西哥专业认证委员会的历史背景。对国家医学院的作用及其与各委员会的关系进行了评论。给出了一些经该学院认可的委员会的统计数据，截至1992年4月，这些委员会在全国共涵盖29,093名医生。最后，对这些组织在墨西哥的未来以及它们对专业医疗实践监管将产生的日益增加的影响作了简要评论。
