Some aspects of surgery in Russia.

A surgeon from the Moscow Medical Academy, Professor Alexander Shulutko, is the first recipient of the Johnson & Johnson Medical Travelling Fellowship and has completed a one-month study tour in the United Kingdom. Professor Shulutko, 42, a general surgeon specializing in abdominal surgery, is Head of the Department of Surgery at the Academy, one of Russia's most prestigious medical teaching institutions. During his tour he visited the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee and Western Infirmary, Glasgow, and attended a consensus conference on colorectal cancer and the annual Clinical and Scientific meeting of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
