The paper outlines the problems in the analysis of basic trends in the development of current ultrasonic scanners. It shows that at present the architecture of ultrasonic signal-visualizing devices is being modified due to the wide introduction of progress in the technology of multi-media and to the development of specialized transducers designed for studying certain organs and regions of the human body.
