[Autoimmune chronic active hepatitis].

On the basis of a literature review the modern views on the aetiology, clinical features and treatment of autoimmune chronic hepatitis are presented. An appropriate diagnosis is of importance as the autoimmune disease is responsive to corticosteroids, and may be aggravated by interferon, nowadays given for virus-induced liver disease.
