Abstract
Transplantation of allografts is hampered by immunologic destruction. Alloantigens are recognized directly as intact molecules expressed on the graft or indirectly as allopeptides following processing and presentation by antigen presenting cells. This article describes new information regarding the immune response to alloantigens.
