Anesteziol Reanimatol. 1993 May-Jun(3):26-8.
Two thousand cases of anesthesiological support during reconstructive facial surgery in children aged from 1 to 15 have been reviewed. Gas exchange, heart rate, hemodynamics and neurological status have been assessed. The most frequent and severe complications have been outlined. A most safe variant of balanced anesthesia using ketamine combined with controlled lung ventilation with positive end expiratory pressure has been suggested for intraoperative and postoperative periods.
