Urinary incontinence (UI) care in the nursing home often requires more specialized assessment. The Resident Assessment Profile of the Minimum Data Set can serve as a guide to identify complex conditions associated with UI. When the NP applies more focused assessment and implements appropriate behavioral management, significant improvement in the resident's incontinence and quality of life can be achieved.
