Genetic structure and variation of seven natural Drosophila populations was analyzed at nine enzyme loci. The populations examined exhibited low levels of genetic polymorphism and heterozygosity (Hobs = 0.096). Interpopulation variation accounted for only 1.3% (Fst = Gst = 0.013), and the populations examined were shown to be genetically similar, as Dn did not exceed 0.001.
