[Injury of the hamatometacarpal joint--treatment guidelines based on a new classification scheme].

Using a scheme in accordance with the AO-fracture classification, principles of conservative and operative treatment of lesions of the hamatometacarpal joint are given. Because of mild radiological signs, diagnosis may be difficult; if clinical symptoms are indicative for a lesion of the hamatometacarpal joint, a careful search is mandatory.
