Supracondylar fracture of the humerus occurs most often in fairly young persons. The incidence rate decreases during adolescence and is then seen to an increased degree again at an advanced age. Conservative treatment of this fracture leads in elderly patients often to restricted function of the elbow and shoulder. Even operative fixation by means of screws in combination with a semitubular or DC plate may be associated with difficulties. Combined use of tension banding and drill wiring is a good alternative.
肱骨髁上骨折最常发生于相当年轻的人群。发病率在青春期下降，然后在高龄时再次出现上升。这种骨折在老年患者中采用保守治疗往往会导致肘部和肩部功能受限。即使采用螺钉结合半管状或动力加压钢板进行手术固定也可能存在困难。张力带和克氏针联合使用是一种很好的替代方法。
