Conservative amalgam restoration of Class II lesions--the "slot" restoration: a case report.

The decline in caries prevalence and a greater emphasis on preventive measures and oral hygiene have led to a reconsideration of the classic parameters proposed by Black for cavity preparation. Through a case report, the rationale and the technique for conservative amalgam restoration of interproximal lesions (the slot restoration) are discussed.
