A technique is described to obtain a lateral view of an anterior tooth using a regular periapical film. This procedure helps determine the relative labiolingual position of instruments during the nonsurgical treatment of calcified canals. No additional armamentarium is required other than what is used in the daily practice of endodontics. This technique has other applications as well.
