After a delay of 7 to 21 years, bilateral parotidectomy with complete preservation of the facial nerves and myoplasty of the post-operative cavities for enlarged parotid glands due to Sjögren's syndrome was found to have been beneficial in 10 patients. Excellent results were obtained both in terms of aesthetic and psychic outcome, but also in terms of greatly improved general health. Patients' psychoaffective, familial, professional and social lifestyle had returned to normal.
在延迟7至21年后，对10例因干燥综合征导致腮腺肿大的患者进行了双侧腮腺切除术，术中完全保留面神经，并对术后腔隙进行肌成形术，结果发现该手术有益。在美学和心理效果方面均取得了优异的结果，而且在整体健康状况大幅改善方面也是如此。患者的心理情感、家庭、职业和社会生活方式已恢复正常。
