Semen characteristics were studied among 200 fertile Pakistani men aged 24 to 48 years. Each subject had fathered at least two children. The mean +/- SD values of volume, sperm density, motility percentage, grade of motility and percentage of oval sperms were 3.11 +/- 1.2 ml, 58.21 +/- 26.41 million/ml, 61.2 +/- 21.3%, 3.01 +/- 0.94 and 70.2 +/- 15.36% respectively. There was no deteriorating effect of age on semen quality except some decrease in semen volume. The comparison has been made with studies from other countries.
对200名年龄在24至48岁之间的巴基斯坦可育男性的精液特征进行了研究。每位受试者至少育有两个孩子。精液体积、精子密度、活力百分比、活力等级和椭圆形精子百分比的平均值±标准差分别为3.11±1.2毫升、58.21±26.41百万/毫升、61.2±21.3%、3.01±0.94和70.2±15.36%。除精液体积略有减少外，年龄对精液质量没有恶化影响。已与其他国家的研究进行了比较。
