The aim of this article is to convey the manageability of qualitative research to registered nurses in the clinical field. The methodology of qualitative research and a practical example are described in detail. A qualitative research project was done on the way first year nursing students experienced their first year. The reasons why registered nurses should do qualitative nursing research are also given.
