At the resuscitation clinic 27 patients suffering from hepatorenal form of leptospirosis were observed. Some features of the course of hepatorenal insufficiency were noted in this disease: relatively short period of oligoanuria, absence of hyperkalemia, dependence of the degree of hemorrhagic syndrome on the level of thrombocytes and absence of correlation with prothrombin consumption index, an apparent brain edema in autopsy tissue. Timely delivery of intensive care including hemodialysis, hemosorption, oxybarotherapy, ultraviolet irradiation of blood, corticosteroid therapy enabled the recovery to be secured in 67% of patients with grave forms of leptospirosis.
