The article analyses the motives and reasons of suicides among servicemen, such as: misfortunes and difficulties of military service (29.3%), family and personal mishaps (31.7%), the fear of being punished for misdemeanor (13.9%), violation of interpersonal relations (8.1%). The authors cite the facts that have connecting links with suicidal cases and give medico-social characteristics of suicides. Medical factors of suicidal risk are depicted. A special attention is drawn on the missions of medical service on suicide prevention.
