The health of a man is predetermined to a considerable extent by his nutrition. Army physicians frequently deals with the cases of insufficient nutrition among servicemen. The article studies the reasons, frequency and clinic aspects of insufficient nutrition. The authors give a historical reference about the notion of nutritional dystrophy, and reveals some mechanisms of its development. These considerations concerning the cases of insufficient nutrition in servicemen will help army physician to carry out a more effective preventive work among military contingency.
