An electron-microscopic study was performed to examine the shape abnormities of spermatozoon nuclei of drakes used for breeding. The following shape deviations were observed: round nuclei with one or more chromatin projections, pear-shaped nuclei and those of lobular shape. Spermatozoa with abnormal-shape usually had a smaller quantity of cytoplasma in which the electron-microscopy revealed structures of flagellum in the same form as in normal spermatozoa or in a structurally changed form. The structure of the nucleus of abnormal shapes is not distorted, with the exception of the presence of larger vacuoles. The chromatin of deformed spermatozoon nuclei showed a compsition similar to that in normal spermatozoa.
