Abstract
The article begins by reviewing the origin of the use of polyurethane for immobilizing casts, including the incorporation of a zipper, which allows temporary removal of the cast. The formation of the specific polyurethane mixture discussed, Neofrakt, is outlined, as well as its application and specific properties. Finally, Neofrakt's advantages for postoperative care are discussed.
