[Swanson prosthesis or resection arthroplasty? A comparative study].

Two different surgical methods for basal joint arthrosis (implantation of a Swanson condylar prosthesis and resection arthroplasty) are compared. The medium-term results are roughly comparable. However, the indication for prosthesis implantation is much more limited than that of resection arthroplasty.
